Statement

The New York Criminal & Civil Courts Bar Association affirms the vital role that the judiciary and attorneys play in upholding the rule of law and ensuring access to justice. It is essential to respect the independence of the Courts and the legal profession. It is a fundamental Constitutional right to challenge government actions in Court, when necessary.  Our legal system depends on the ability of judges to interpret the law and lawyers to advocate for their clients, without fear of reprisal.
